Before You Arrive
Pre-Admission Testing
Pre-registration and scheduling of any pre-admission
testing that may be required of you will be scheduled by your physician's
office staff. On the day of your pre-admission testing, we will
need authorization forms if they are required by your insurance.
All forms will be generated to establish your medical record prior
to surgery. Your pre-admission testing can be conducted at Southern
Ocean County Hospital or at one of the SOCH Centers for Health
in Forked River or Little Egg Harbor. If you are having surgery,
please notify your surgeon if there is any change in your health,
such as a virus, after your testing but prior to your surgery.
What to Pack
When being admitted to the Hospital, please
feel free to bring personal clothing items such as a bathrobe and
slippers, as well as any other hygiene items that would help make
your stay more comfortable. Those who walk with the use of crutches
or a walker are also advised to bring these.
Patients should also bring an updated listing
of any medications they are currently taking.
What to Leave at Home
Patients should not bring any jewelry, large
quantities of money, or electrical devices with them to the Hospital.
Patients should also leave medications at home.
